Georgetown High School Drum Major | Dawn Fry Photo |Senior Portraits in Austin

It has been both an honor and a privilege for me to create senior portraits for Georgetown High School’s drum majors for several years in a row. Being a musician myself, (I proudly earned a vocal music education degree in college) I find that I am drawn to creatives and photograph senior portraits for musicians, artists, and theater students more often than seniors with other interests. I guess in some way music and art connects us all, and it’s been said you attract what you love.

This lovely senior from Georgetown High School was on my Elite Spokesmodel team and I am so glad I had the opportunity to get to know her and her family through our many events and photo shoots. Not only did we create senior portraits for her, but we also got to spend the weekend with her and her mom on an amazing creative session retreat, do a mother/daughter session, a family session during our fall fundraiser event, and many other events. It was a joy having her on my team. This year she will embark on a new journey to the University of North Texas, and I know she is destined for great things.

We began Morgan’s session in downtown Austin just off Congress. Her bold patterned dress and converse stood out among the grey tones and city concrete.

Her second outfit included another bold print top with black jeans, complimenting her urban surroundings and showing us her tough side. I love the contrast of the bold patterns and the gritty urban scenes.

I so loved that Morgan went with a clean face and natural hair look. She stayed totally true to her personality and style, and it really made her images a reflection of her amazing personality.

Edgy. Urban. Strong. Morgan exudes all three in her fringed “Free Spirit” tee and combat boots. Love this look!

After sweating our faces off in the city, we headed up to San Gabriel Park in Georgetown for some softer, airy images in nature. While Morgan is strong and fierce, she also has a gentle soul and a heart for the environment. Her off the shoulder “Gypsy Soul” tee and jean shorts were a perfect outfit choice for this background. The light through the trees and flowers complimented her outfit and surrounding elements.

I love this bold red top contrasting against the greenery of the park. Another off the shoulder style, it really looked amazing on her. We captured her beautifully with the wood fence and her furry friend got in on the fun. Pets are always welcome on senior sessions with DFP!

Of course we HAD to get some shots of the letterman jacket! So many of Morgan’s achievements are represented in the patches. It is a huge part of her high school career. After all, this is about capturing and preserving memories!

Did I mention Morgan brought her pets? YES!! 3 beautiful dogs joined us for her senior portrait session. Of course, they all had to wear matching bandanas! I die from the cuteness!

One more outfit change and we headed over to the river for some fun water photos. What senior doesn’t love to splash around the water in a dress? It’s pretty much a tradition!

One final hat tip and we were out of there! Wet, tired, and so full of good memories. Thank you, Morgan, for sharing this important moment of life with me. It was an honor to be the preserver of your high school self. I wish you all the best.

Georgetown High School Beauty | Dawn Fry Photo| Senior Spokesmodel Session

This sweet girl was one of the first class of 2017 seniors I photographed last year. Shelby, from Georgetown High School, is a fabulous DFP Spokesmodel. With the help of her parents and sweet sister, we ventured out one hot August morning to capture Shelby and create her photo legacy.

Shelby’s after high school plans involve studying nursing, so we made sure to incorporate that personal aspect of her life into her photos. She will make a fantastic healthcare worker someday. Her heart is truly a caring and kind one.

Since we were photographing in San Gabriel Park in Georgetown, we took advantage of the beautiful sunken garden and fun fountain. It is the perfect location for senior photos.

Shelby brought a variety of props to her photo shoot, including some adorable daisies, balloons, and glitter. She really made her photo session fun and personal.

Another great addition to her shoot was her Georgetown High School letterman jacket, and of course her clarinet, which she played in the school band. Shelby’s senior photos will completely capture who she is in this amazing time of her life. When she looks back on these, there will be no doubt about how beautiful, well-rounded, involved, and fun she was in high school.

Amazing hair and makeup for Shelby was provided by Michelle with Blush You, Inc. Please check her out for all your beauty needs! A special thank you goes out to Shelby’s parents and sister for hauling, adjusting, and light bending for us during the shoot. Shelby’s dad is a master Light Bending Bro, and I so enjoyed spending that hot morning with all of you! You are the best!

Sweetheart Session with the DFP Spokesmodels

On a cold and rainy day back in February, we gathered some of the DFP Spokesmodels for a fun sweetheart themed shoot and a Cards For Kids valentine making activity. As a spokesmodel team, the DFP seniors like to do activities that give back to the community. We volunteer, we fundraise, and we do small acts of kindness. On this day, we made Valentine cards for the kids at Dell Children’s Hospital that would be passed out on Valentine’s Day.

The girls made about 40 cards for the kids out at Dell Children’s Hospital, and after our event I dropped them off at Mama Fu’s restaurant, so they would be distributed during the Mix 94.7 event. I am so proud of the girls for taking part in this activity, and absolutely LOVE the cards they created. We have so much talent in this group!

One of our team moms did an AMAZING job of putting together a surprise Valentine’s Day Party for the girls. She went all out making treats and goodies and took care of us so well. I can not thank her enough for her generosity and all the work she put in to make us feel loved. It made the day super special. Thank you so much, Amanda, for everything you do! You are an amazing momma and a great friend to the DFP Spokesmodel team. We love you!

The girls were so sweet and brave to stand out in the cold and look cute for pictures!

They don’t look cold at all, do they? Shelby (Vandegrift High School) and Lexie (Georgetown High School) rocked their individual shots. They are pros at this by now.

And I am so excited to introduce you to one of our newest team members, Vandegrift High School class of 2018 Spokesmodel, Adriana C! Adriana was so fun to work with! I know she is going to do amazing things this coming year. We are so excited to have her on the team.

My gorgeous white rose girls…

We had so much fun! Fierce and sassy, sweet and happy, these girls know how to do it all. I loved this time with them so much!

Will you accept this rose?

They are all just STUNNING!

Want to join us on our next adventure? Become a class of 2018 spokesmodel by applying TODAY! Spots are limited, and time is running out to join the team. We would love to have you join us!

Much love,

~Dawn

A Day At the Park with the DFP Spokesmodels | Dawn Fry Photo | Austin Photographer

A couple of months ago we had our latest group shoot with the DFP Spokesmodels. We decided it would be fun to have some playtime in the park.

We had Sydney from Lago Vista High school, Morgan from Round Rock High School, Alyssa from Vandegrift High School, Vivian and Jasmine from McNeil High School, and Morgan and Lexie from Georgetown High School there. It was a gorgeous day and the girls had a ton of fun on the playground.

When was the last time you went down a slide? LOL! Catching the girls’ expressions was so FUN!

I just love them all so much! I can’t believe graduation is only a few weeks away. I have loved having them on the spokesmodel team.

There is still time for you to apply if you are in the class of 2018! Don’t miss out on all the fun we are going to have this year. Make some memories. Get great senior photos. Don’t settle for anything less than the best.

Much love,

Dawn
