Georgetown High School Drum Major | Dawn Fry Photo |Senior Portraits in Austin

It has been both an honor and a privilege for me to create senior portraits for Georgetown High School’s drum majors for several years in a row. Being a musician myself, (I proudly earned a vocal music education degree in college) I find that I am drawn to creatives and photograph senior portraits for musicians, artists, and theater students more often than seniors with other interests. I guess in some way music and art connects us all, and it’s been said you attract what you love.

This lovely senior from Georgetown High School was on my Elite Spokesmodel team and I am so glad I had the opportunity to get to know her and her family through our many events and photo shoots. Not only did we create senior portraits for her, but we also got to spend the weekend with her and her mom on an amazing creative session retreat, do a mother/daughter session, a family session during our fall fundraiser event, and many other events. It was a joy having her on my team. This year she will embark on a new journey to the University of North Texas, and I know she is destined for great things.

We began Morgan’s session in downtown Austin just off Congress. Her bold patterned dress and converse stood out among the grey tones and city concrete.

Her second outfit included another bold print top with black jeans, complimenting her urban surroundings and showing us her tough side. I love the contrast of the bold patterns and the gritty urban scenes.

I so loved that Morgan went with a clean face and natural hair look. She stayed totally true to her personality and style, and it really made her images a reflection of her amazing personality.

Edgy. Urban. Strong. Morgan exudes all three in her fringed “Free Spirit” tee and combat boots. Love this look!

After sweating our faces off in the city, we headed up to San Gabriel Park in Georgetown for some softer, airy images in nature. While Morgan is strong and fierce, she also has a gentle soul and a heart for the environment. Her off the shoulder “Gypsy Soul” tee and jean shorts were a perfect outfit choice for this background. The light through the trees and flowers complimented her outfit and surrounding elements.

I love this bold red top contrasting against the greenery of the park. Another off the shoulder style, it really looked amazing on her. We captured her beautifully with the wood fence and her furry friend got in on the fun. Pets are always welcome on senior sessions with DFP!

Of course we HAD to get some shots of the letterman jacket! So many of Morgan’s achievements are represented in the patches. It is a huge part of her high school career. After all, this is about capturing and preserving memories!

Did I mention Morgan brought her pets? YES!! 3 beautiful dogs joined us for her senior portrait session. Of course, they all had to wear matching bandanas! I die from the cuteness!

One more outfit change and we headed over to the river for some fun water photos. What senior doesn’t love to splash around the water in a dress? It’s pretty much a tradition!

One final hat tip and we were out of there! Wet, tired, and so full of good memories. Thank you, Morgan, for sharing this important moment of life with me. It was an honor to be the preserver of your high school self. I wish you all the best.

Georgetown High School Beauty | Dawn Fry Photo| Senior Spokesmodel Session

This sweet girl was one of the first class of 2017 seniors I photographed last year. Shelby, from Georgetown High School, is a fabulous DFP Spokesmodel. With the help of her parents and sweet sister, we ventured out one hot August morning to capture Shelby and create her photo legacy.

Shelby’s after high school plans involve studying nursing, so we made sure to incorporate that personal aspect of her life into her photos. She will make a fantastic healthcare worker someday. Her heart is truly a caring and kind one.

Since we were photographing in San Gabriel Park in Georgetown, we took advantage of the beautiful sunken garden and fun fountain. It is the perfect location for senior photos.

Shelby brought a variety of props to her photo shoot, including some adorable daisies, balloons, and glitter. She really made her photo session fun and personal.

Another great addition to her shoot was her Georgetown High School letterman jacket, and of course her clarinet, which she played in the school band. Shelby’s senior photos will completely capture who she is in this amazing time of her life. When she looks back on these, there will be no doubt about how beautiful, well-rounded, involved, and fun she was in high school.

Amazing hair and makeup for Shelby was provided by Michelle with Blush You, Inc. Please check her out for all your beauty needs! A special thank you goes out to Shelby’s parents and sister for hauling, adjusting, and light bending for us during the shoot. Shelby’s dad is a master Light Bending Bro, and I so enjoyed spending that hot morning with all of you! You are the best!

Hagen | Vandegrift High School Spokesmodel | Dawn Fry Photo

Hagen’s senior session began bright and early one morning. After meeting up with my amazing makeup artist, Ledda, at 6AM, she was pampered with gorgeous, flawless makeup and hair styling. We headed out to Bull Creek to shoot some sunrise nature photos, and had so much fun.

Class of 2016, REPRESENT!:)
After having fun in the park, we headed downtown to South Congress to capture a more urban look for Hagen’s images. I love the colors of downtown – they totally drew out her gorgeous eyes.
I always try to make sure mom gets in a shot at the end. She works hard to make this day happen for her senior, and deserve some recognition too.
Thanks so much, Hagen, for helping me create these beautiful photos of you. I hope you enjoy them, always.

Meagan | Westwood High School Elite Spokesmodel | Dawn Fry Photo

This is a story about a beautiful young woman who decided to take a road trip.

This beautiful woman, dressed in her finest, set out on a road trip in her old Thunderbird, to find the princess. The weather was perfect, the road was clear, and she was sure to find her way through the Austin streets to her destination.
But soon the beautiful woman found herself lost. She checked the maps, only to find they were for foreign lands. What was she to do?
Suddenly, as if by magic, two handsome men found the stranded woman and they offered to escort her to her destination. The beautiful young woman was relieved.

After thanking the gentlemen, the beautiful young woman went in to the hotel to find the princess. That was when she discovered, SHE was the princess! She donned her emerald green ball gown, and made her grand entrance.

When the ball was over, the princess reflected on her charmed life and remembered she had an important job to do.
She had to graduate from Westwood High School! She put on her letterman jacket and headed back to school to finish her senior year. Being  princess was awesome, but being a high school senior was even better. Soon there would be even more time for road trips and adventures.
Thank you, Meagan, for being an amazing spokesmodel and planning this unforgettable senior session! I cannot tell you how fun this was. I also want to give a HUGE thank you to your mom (the Queen!), your aunt, grandfather, great uncle, and everyone else who helped out, drove cars, loaned props, provided support and cheered you on for this shoot. You have an amazing family and I am blessed to be a part of your senior year.

And of course, I could not have even remotely pulled off this shoot without the help of my amazing Hair, Makeup, and Light Bending DIVA Extraordinaire, Ledda! Check her out rocking this lighting test shot!

One more – thank you to the Renaissance Hotel for allowing us to shoot in your beautiful facility. It was a pleasure.
