Dawn Fry Photo Seniors

Thank goodness for Google searches!  It’s so funny, the majority of my most recent clients have found me through a Google search.  They see my work and that is what motivates them to hire me. I absolutely love that! Word of mouth is great, but when I get a senior that sees the images I create and thinks, “That’s the kind of photos I want for my senior session!” it really validates my work as a photographer. Sure, I want people to like me and come to me because they heard I was super nice or funny or smart or something like that, but when my photographic style is what sets me apart from other photographers, it is a major compliment. Such was the case when the lovely and sweet, Ellen, decided to book me for her senior session. After meeting her and her mom at their pre-session consultation, I knew this was going to be an amazing session.

Ellen chose an “Awesome” senior session – 2 hours and two locations. It fit her perfectly. Her main location was at her church! The church grounds were absolutely gorgeous. They provided us with plenty of beautiful backdrops, lots of nice, open shade, and the perfect amount of personal connection to make everyone feel comfortable. Ellen chose outfits that were specific to her personality and interests – her debate uniform, a dressy purple blouse and skirt, casual ripped jeans, her letter jacket and her favorite sundress.

One of Ellen’s most prized possessions is Carter, her faithful truck. We had a lot of fun posing around him in the parking lot. Here is Ellen representing for Pflugerville High School in her letter jacket!

Carter made the perfect seat for some photos (glad I brought my step ladder!) and the perfect backdrop as well.

After we had exhausted the church grounds, we headed up the road in Round Rock to a park with a beautiful creek. Well, it was beautiful in some places.  A lot of the creek banks were covered in some really strange, hairy looking slime. And most of the time that we were walking the creek side, we were followed by a travelling bongo player who serenaded us as we shot (Only in Austin. lol! True story!!!) When we found those clear and clean places though, the results were fantastic. On a side note: I usually have an assistant with me on senior sessions, but my usual sidekick was unavailable, so I had Ellen’s mom assisting me by holding the reflector. She rocked it! The light in these next two images is from the awesomeness of her reflector skillz – go Mom!! 🙂

We splashed in the water and played, and there was even a fun prank played on Ellen’s little sister (if you are on their Christmas card list, you will probably see the results of such shenanigans! 😉 ) And, like a true supermodel, Ellen made every shot magical. This look blew me away.

Here is Ellen’s full session music video if you want to check out more of her amazing images.

Ellen, you are beautiful, inside and out, and I hope you had a great time with your senior session. It was truly a pleasure to meet you and your family. I wish you all the best.
